From your idea to a clear design brief

Start with the purpose of the piece and the person receiving it. Gather the words, dates, logo files and colors that matter. Sketch both sides if the design needs a front and back. Include approximate dimensions and tell us which details are essential. A vector file is helpful when available, but a photograph or written idea is also a useful starting point. Review spelling, layout and dimensions carefully when checking your proof.
